Professor Aida Hernandez gives the first CLAS Open Seminar of 2013-14
14 October 2013
This year's seminar series has started, with an inspiring presentation by the Simón Bolívar Professor, Aída Hernández Castillo. She spoke to a room packed with students and staff from across the university on the subject of the decolonization of feminist theory, drawing on fascinating research she has conducted on indigenous social movements and with indigenous women in prisons in Mexico. Those present then retired for a party to mark the beginning of the new year and to welcome our new students, at which a large quantity of Chilean empanadas were consumed.
