It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Professor David A. Brading on April 20, in Cambridge.
Professor Brading was one of the most distinguished historians of Latin America.
Author of an extensive and important work, David Brading made fundamental contributions to the knowledge of the political, economic, and cultural history of the region, especially Mexico and Peru, in the colonial and republican periods. From the University of Cambridge, he worked tirelessly to stimulate and disseminate Latin American studies in all its expressions, organizing seminars and conferences, and supervising numerous doctoral theses.
We offer our deep condolences to his family.
