Development and Policy in Latin America

This module examines normative and prescriptive approaches to social, economic and political change in the region. With emphasis on how ideas and institutions are put in practice, sessions consider the role of industrial policy, economic planning, the state, conditional cash transfers, policing and technology. This module asks how actors make decisions and decide how things should be, and what kinds of problems and complications are encountered and made.
