Recollections of CLAS: Julie Koch, MPhil student, 1994-1995

I had travelled a little bit in Latin America and was hugely interested in the continent. Being able to do a MPhil in Latin American Studies was thus an obvious choice for me after finishing my BA in Sociology with Development Studies. The academic standard at CLAS was extremely high and I enjoyed combining sociology, politics and history. Studying at CLAS initiated my interest in gender issues, and after graduating I went back to Denmark to do a Ph.D. on gender relations in Bolivia. I have worked with international issues ever since. I think back on CLAS and Cambridge with fond memories.
