Centre of Latin American Studies

 

The Latin American Studies collection consists of over 16,000 volumes, receives journals as well as research, discussion and working papers from universities worldwide. (location & opening hours)  

CLAS MPhil dissertations are kept in the CLAS Librarian’s office and are available for consultation only. Likewise, CLAS Working Papers Series 1 (1-42).

Any member of the University can visit and use the library. Books may be borrowed by holders of university cards.

The integrated University Library catalogue system allows you to renew and reserve books via the online catalogue iDiscover. Loans may be renewed (provided that the book has not been requested by another reader).

The catalogue of the combined CLAS Latin American film collection (containing over 700 films) can be accessed from the domains of many academic institutions. If you are unable to access it and would like your institution to be given access, please contact us.

The Cohen Collection, housed in the Old Library at Queens’ College, Cambridge, has books, pamphlets and other material from 1950s Spain and Argentina, 1960s and 1970s Mexico and Cuba as well as pre-Columbian and Nahuatl literature.

St John's College, Cambridge, holds the Kenneth Maxwell Collection consisting of almost 2000 volumes covering Portuguese and Brazilian history in both English and Portuguese.
