Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships 2027
Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships
Deadline: 12 noon BST on 23 October 2026
The Centre of Latin American Studies (CLAS), University of Cambridge, invites candidates to submit their applications through CLAS for the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships, to be taken up in October 2027.
Applications are welcome from Latin Americanists working in any eligible field supported by the Leverhulme Trust. Successful applicants will be asked to make a modest contribution to teaching on the MPhil in Latin American Studies, within their chosen area of expertise. You will be expected to play a full part in the thriving research community based at CLAS, and to live in or near Cambridge during the week in term time, unless carrying out fieldwork. You will have access to world-class research facilities and a range of opportunities for training and career development. For information about the Centre of Latin American Studies, please see our website.
How to apply
Applications must be emailed to RGA@polis.cam.ac.uk and admin@latin-american.cam.ac.uk by 12 noon BST on 23 October 2026. This is the internal deadline for applications to be assessed and selected for submission to the Trust. Applicants will then be ranked in an internal Departmental competition with the top two then sent to the Isaac Newton Trust for consideration for match funding. Confirmations of match funding will be given in late January/early-February to allow time to finalise applications by the Leverhulme deadline in late-February. Please refer to the final table on this page for the scheme’s overall timeline.
Applicants should ensure that they meet all the eligibility requirements before applying. Please read the guidance provided on the Leverhulme Trust website carefully before contacting us.
