Capitalism and Society in Latin America (LT)

This module examines scholarly work on how capitalism operates in Latin America, through the economy, politics and society. Taking an interdisciplinary approach, lecturers will examine questions of political reform, inequality, urbanisation and industrialisation, the lived conditions of political-economic struggle, the uses and maintenance of inequality and histories of capitalist extraction, in human and resource terms. In other words, this module takes a reflexive view on how capitalism is analysed and conceptualised.

Lecturers: Pedro Mendes Loureiro (4), Dolores Señorans (2)
