AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership Scheme: application information

AHRC grants for MPhil and PhD in Latin American Studies (Home/EU)

The Centre of Latin American Studies is able to accept Home and EU candidates for Arts and Humanities Research Council studentships in the AHRC subject area of 'Languages and Literature: Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin Studies' (including literature and film), under the Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) scheme. The Centre (together with the Department of Spanish and Portuguese) holds a yearly allocation of AHRC studentships in this subject area for applicants at MPhil and PhD level. Outstanding students of History can also be considered.

To be eligible, you must have completed the Graduate Admission Application Form ('GradSAF'; either online or on paper), including Section B (Application for Funding) and completed an AHRC application form.

The closing date for applications to the University for consideration for this funding is 4 January 2017 (ergo, this is the date by which you must have made an application, via the Graduate Admissions Office (GAO), for the MPhil or PhD in Latin American Studies).

You must also have completed a separate 500-word 'statement of purpose' which needs to be sent directly to the CLAS Administrator.

If you are considering an application for the PhD under this scheme, it is vital that you make contact with the Director of CLAS and a potential supervisor well in advance of submitting your application form to the GAO. Please see our advice on how to apply to the PhD in Latin American Studies.
